Van Cao who was known as a very talented musician and highly appreciated by Vietnamese people is one of the greatest musicians in Vietnam. He was born in 1923, November 15th , in Nam Dinh and his family was poor workers. He started composing music when he was very young. In 1939 he composed his first song and quickly became famous. In 1944, he wrote Tien Quan Ca which is our National Anthem today. Van Cao was not only famous for songs, poems he wrote but also for paintings. He died on July 10th, 1995 but his musical career live forever.
